A Fall Engagement Session | Independence Pass, Colorado

By now, it shouldn’t be any secret that fall in Colorado is a magical time. As the calendar edges toward October, the Colorado mountains prepare for their much anticipated transformation—the aspen leaves embracing their breathtaking metamorphosis. Splashes of vibrant yellow paint the landscape as every branch dances with the crisp mountain breeze. The air, once warm and inviting, now carries a hint of coolness that invigorates the senses. The jagged peaks stand tall against the clear blue sky, serving as a majestic backdrop to nature's masterpiece. The symphony of crunching leaves underfoot and the occasional call of wildlife creates a soundtrack that is uniquely autumnal.

Fall in the Colorado mountains is an invitation to witness the beauty of change, where every step taken uncovers a scene straight from a painter's imagination.

This is what awaited us for M + R’s engagement photos in early October. With Independence Pass as our backdrop and yellow leaves still clinging to their branches, we ended up picking just the right time for their Colorado fall engagement session. Independence Pass even ended up closing just a week or so after our time here, after snow began accumulating. It’s no surprise that I love this location for photoshoots.
