About nora of rowan + birch
Perhaps the most important thing you need to know about me is the fact that I got in trouble in school quite often because I laughed. A lot. I also have an unabashed, deeply rooted love of Harry Potter. From there, you may be able to discern a few things: I'm a bit of a nerd. I am almost always reading. My idea of a solid Friday night is cozying up with a good book, my roommate's puppy, and a glass of White Zinfandel. Do I sound like I'm in my sixties? I'm okay with that.
I am a lover of stories, of light (and shadows), of coffee shops, and cats. I want to sit across from you at my dining room table or on a hammock in the forest and exchange favourite quotes and songs and poems. When I was a child, my mother had to force me to go outside. These days, you have to force me to go in. I feel most myself when surrounded by open space and fresh air.
Through my photography, I strive to capture the beauty of everyday moments: the golden hours, the quiet revelations, God's glory in the surrounding world. I long to capture the different seasons of the earth as well as the different seasons within ourselves.
Besides Harry Potter, some of my favourite things Include:
Any peanut butter-y ice cream
Gregory Alan Isakov and his sweet, melodic voice
Trader Joe's Speculoos Cookie & Cocoa Swirl
Swing Thai's crab and cream cheese wontons
Pride & Prejudice (2005 film, of course)
The Avett Brothers
Rainer Maria Rilke
All the quotes
Will travel. Always.

Tiny villages, cobbled lanes, epic fjords and lochs, lavender fields in the countryside. I’m here for it all. So let me know where you dream to be photographed and what sets your heart aflutter. I can guarantee it sets mine alight as well.
